Cancellation Policy
Plans change. Here's exactly how deposits, cancellations, and refunds work — written in plain language.

We want every booking with Tukab Safaris to feel safe and predictable. Most of our tours involve third-party costs — park fees, lodge deposits, internal flights — that we commit to on your behalf the moment you confirm. The schedule below reflects how much of those costs we can recover at each stage.
Deposits & Confirmation
- A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking and lock in lodge availability.
- The balance is due 60 days before your departure date.
- For bookings made within 60 days of departure, the full amount is due at confirmation.
- All prices are quoted in USD. Card-processing fees (3%) are passed through at cost; bank transfers are free.
If You Cancel
Refund schedule based on the number of days between cancellation notice and your departure date.
60+ days before departure
Full refund of deposit minus a $150 admin fee per booking.
59 – 31 days before departure
50% of total tour cost is refundable.
30 – 15 days before departure
25% of total tour cost is refundable.
14 days or less before departure
Non-refundable. We will work with you to reschedule where possible.
Cancellation is effective from the date we receive your written notice (email is fine). Refunds are processed within 14 business days, returned to the original payment method.
Force Majeure & Travel Disruptions
For events outside reasonable control — government travel restrictions, natural disasters, regional security incidents, pandemic-related closures — we will work with you to:
- Postpone your safari to a future date with no rebooking fee, or
- Issue a credit valid for 24 months, or
- Refund any portion that suppliers (lodges, airlines, parks) refund back to us.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical evacuation, and lost baggage. We can suggest providers.
If We Cancel
In the rare event Tukab Safaris cancels your safari for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, with no deductions. We are not liable for incidental costs (international flights, visa fees, insurance) — another reason we recommend insurance.
Changes to Your Booking
Once confirmed, changes to dates, lodges, or traveller numbers are subject to availability and supplier policies. We charge no admin fee for the first change; subsequent changes are $50 per amendment plus any third-party difference.
Substituting a traveller in your party (e.g. one person drops out, another joins) is free if requested at least 14 days before departure.
